The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Vice President of Sales. The VP, Sales leads the strategy, execution, and performance management for the Inside Sales and Outside Sales teams.
This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, customer acquisition, customer retention, pipeline discipline, and field execution while aligning sales activity to company objectives. This position does not include responsibility for Key Accounts Programs.
The leader in this role is expected to model and reinforce Applied’s core values in how the team sells, serves customers, manages opportunities, and holds itself accountable.
This is a remote role, you must be located within the United States to be considered for this position. This role requires up to 75% travel.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for Inside Sales and Outside Sales to achieve revenue targets, volume recovery, customer growth, and business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Inside Sales and Outside Sales teams, setting clear expectations for performance, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expand the customer base, and increase sales within assigned Inside Sales and Outside Sales coverage areas.
  • Set sales goals, track performance, inspect pipeline activity, and adjust strategies to ensure consistent achievement of targets across Inside Sales and Outside Sales.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to refine sales strategies.
  • Work closely with marketing, operations, product, and executive teams to ensure Inside Sales and Outside Sales priorities are aligned with company goals and customer expectations.
  • Foster strong customer and prospect relationships through disciplined field engagement, responsive Inside Sales support, and a customer-focused approach to problem solving.
  • Provide regular sales reports to senior management, including forecasts, performance metrics, and key insights.
  • Model and reinforce Applied’s core values by building a team-oriented culture, getting things done with urgency, holding the team accountable to commitments, staying customer-focused, and promoting a growth mindset.
  • Ensure role clarity and disciplined execution between Inside Sales and Outside Sales, excluding ownership of Key Accounts Programs.
  • Support and adhere to all safety procedures and complete all required safety training.
  • Identify and support improvement opportunities for processes to support company objectives and customer expectations.
  • Must be willing to travel to as needed, up to 75%.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Other Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in sales leadership, preferably across Inside Sales and Outside Sales teams, with a strong track record of driving sales growth and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with experience motivating, developing, and holding sales teams accountable to clear goals and core value expectations.
  • Ability to develop and execute Inside Sales and Outside Sales strategies that align with company goals, market dynamics, customer needs, and the company’s core values.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to negotiate and build relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess sales performance and market trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to create a team-oriented, accountable, customer-focused sales culture with urgency, follow-through, and a growth mindset.
