Job description

About Base

Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.

About the Role

Base Power Company is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Deployment Quality Associate to ensure the highest standards of our battery installations. This role is responsible for the critical final review of all installation projects, verifying that each meets our quality benchmarks and complies with all relevant codes. The Deployment Quality Associate will analyze close-out photos, manage rework processes for any deficiencies, and maintain key metrics on installer performance. This position is essential for upholding our commitment to excellence, ensuring system safety and reliability, and driving continuous improvement among our installation partners.

What You’ll Do

  • Review install close-out photos and documentation to verify quality and adherence to installation standards

  • Identify installation defects, compliance issues, or deviations from the initial design

  • Create, assign, and manage rework tickets to ensure timely and effective resolution of installation deficiencies

  • Track and analyze installer performance metrics to identify trends, training needs, and areas for improvement

  • Communicate effectively with installation partners regarding quality expectations and required corrective actions

  • Maintain a comprehensive database of installation quality records and rework activities

  • Provide feedback to the Site Planning and Engineering teams to help refine installation standards and prevent future issues

  • Develop and update quality control checklists and documentation for the installation process

  • Report on key quality metrics and installer performance to management

What You’ll Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in site survey review, electrical installation, quality control, or a related technical field

  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and creating detailed diagrams

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to meticulously review visual data from photographs

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tickets and priorities simultaneously

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work

  • Proficient with computer software, including ticketing systems and data tracking tools

  • Experience in a quality assurance or quality control role

  • Experience with solar, battery, or EV charger installations

  • Familiarity with performance management and vendor score-carding

  • Certification in electrical or solar installation

  • Knowledge of specific local electrical codes

  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills

About the Team

The Deployment Quality team is the last line of defense between an installation and a live system—ensuring every battery we energize is safe, compliant, and built to last. We solve the gap between “installed” and “done right,” catching issues that impact long-term system performance, customer trust, and our ability to scale reliably across markets. Our work directly protects Base’s model—owning and operating distributed battery systems at scale—by preventing costly failures and driving higher-quality installs across both in-house crews and partners. The impact is measurable: better install quality means fewer service calls, faster PTO timelines, and stronger unit economics. This is a team for people who want to set the standard, not just check the box—where your decisions directly influence how thousands of systems perform in the real world.

Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.

Our Values
  • First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.

  • Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.

  • Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.

  • Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.

  • Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.

  • Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.

  • Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.

Do the best work of your life at Base.
