The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Implementation Specialist position. Under the auspices of the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH), the Center for Practice Innovations (CPI) promotes the widespread use of evidence-based practices within behavioral health provider agencies throughout New York State. Considered an "Intermediary Organization" for implementation, CPI uses innovative approaches to build stakeholder collaborations, develop and maintain practitioners' expertise, and build agency infrastructures that support implementing and sustaining evidence-based practices.

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time implementation specialist at CPI with interest in implementation of evidence-based care for obsessive-compulsive disorder across a variety of New York State Office of Mental Health care settings. The candidate will assist in the development and support of a statewide program to improve quality of care for OCD supported by the New York State Office of Mental Health (NYS-OMH), named IMPACT-OCD Improving Providers' Assessment, Care Delivery and Treatment of OCD. Informed by principles of implementation science, IMPACT-OCD uses scalable implementation strategies such as e-Learning courses with continuing education, virtual consultation and learning communities, audit and feedback, and incentives in the statewide workforce development program. Our implementation strategies are co-designed with individuals with personal and family lived experience, front-line clinicians, clinic leadership, and state mental health authorities. In addition to rigorous evaluation of IMPACT-OCD activities, leadership of the program also conducts federally-funded research exploring recovery-oriented approaches to improve the quality of life for individuals with OCD and digital health interventions to increase access to care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop curriculum for E-Learning courses, webinars and training
  • Present trainings or workshops on evidence-based care for OCD virtually and on occasion in-person
  • Assess needs and understanding the context of care recipients, clinicians, clinic leaders and the community
  • Assist OMH clinicians and clinic leadership to identify workflows to support evidence-based care, for OCD
  • Collaborate with program leadership to develop tools, templates, and dashboards that support performance monitoring and quality improvement.
  • Identify barriers to implementation and collaborate with teams to develop practical, sustainable solutions.
  • Promote staff engagement, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide follow-up support to ensure changes are adopted, sustained, and effective
  • Engage individuals with personal and family lived experience, front-line clinicians, clinic leadership, and state mental health authorities in the co-creation of implementation strategies and support systems
  • Conduct virtual consultations focused on assessment and evidence-based treatment of OCD with NYS-OMH clinicians (group or individual), supervisors and administrators
  • Developing REDCap databases to support data collection for the IMPACT-OCD program
  • Interpret and discuss implementation support data with implementation partners for ongoing improvement
  • Prepare written summaries, recommendations, and reports for clinic leadership and other partners
  • Supporting day-to-day management of IMPACT-OCD activities
  • Lead presentations, develop manuscripts, and other initiative-related reports or publication
  • Supervise IMPACT-OCD staff in training and implementation support activities
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Licensed clinical social worker (LCSW or equivalent) or Licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in New York.
  • At least (1) year of experience with assessment of OCD and experience providing exposure and response prevention.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Some experience creating training curricula
  • Some experience leading and facilitating training
  • Some experience providing care consultations or implementing evidence-based practices.
