Job description

General Purpose:
Manage the timely and accurate processing of member weight entry, customer balancing, and hauler payroll. Function as a liaison with other departments such as accounting, field representatives, and logistics planning/dispatch to streamline communication. Support senior management with producer and hauler master data management efforts, payroll processes, and other projects or analyses as needed. Manage daily team operational activities and oversee the professional development of the member services staff.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor all member services team activities related to the accurate and timely weight entry and balancing processes during each advance and month-end period
  • Prepare, facilitate, and analyze reports on producer, customer, and hauler weight information
  • Enter and maintain accurate hauler payment rates, payment and deduction information into SAP
  • Facilitate timely hauler payroll processing and ensure a high level of consistency and accuracy
  • Generate producer payroll adjustment payments as needed using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Oversee producer and hauler master data maintenance for the Area
  • Serve as liaison for field representatives and accounting for master data and producer changes
  • Serve as liaison for logistics planning/dispatch for master data and hauling changes
  • Oversee DFA Capital program for Area
  • Seek opportunities for improvement in all areas and develop consistent procedures to maximize efficiency
  • Prepare presentations and reports for meetings with other departments, management, and/or outside customers, haulers, or producers/members
  • Receive and resolve inquiries from internal and external sources as needed
  • Update and maintain department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding team functions
  • Lead and/or oversee special project initiatives within the department or as requested by Senior leadership
  • Manage a performance enhancement culture by actively coaching and mentoring direct reports, providing regular feedback, and developing employees for wider roles and responsibilities to foster professional growth and development
  • Provide backup support to Human Resources functions as needed

Travel Requirements:
  • 5%-15% (1-3 times per year)

Education and Experience:
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, agri-business, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
  • 5 to 8 years of member payment, accounting, or related experience coupled with demonstrated leadership attributes, team leadership, or supervisory experience; 1+ year of management experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and accounting reconciliations, preferably in the dairy industry
  • Thorough understanding of Ever Ag Mobile Manifest application and balancing process with customers for raw milk sales
  • Thorough understanding of milk pricing and payroll processes in SAP
  • Knowledge of Federal Milk Marketing Orders and impacts on pricing
  • Knowledge of DFA Capital program
  • Able to absorb and process complex and/or diverse information
  • Able to identify and solve problems in a timely manner
  • Able to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrate good presentation skills, and conduct meetings in an orderly manner
