Job Summary:

The Service Manager is the primary Resort contact for definite private event and group program bookings. This role is responsible for managing relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, and coordinating all event components to ensure successful programs across Whistler Blackcomb venues and lines of business. .

  

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $58,604.00 - $70,000.00 CAD

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Partner closely with internal departments and external clients to coordinate event logistics, communicate requirements, manage timelines, and ensure successful delivery of conference and catering services.
  • Maximize revenue for all Resort Lines of Business through strong product knowledge and upselling techniques.
  • Host client site tours of Whistler Blackcomb venues as required.
  • Event and program revenue forecasting
  • Monitor all activity on the Group Master Account. Assure all charges are accurate and approved by the client.
  • Collect deposits and securing final payment per contract terms
  • Reconciling the actual financial results on Sales platform.
  • Respond to inquiries as assigned.
  • Floorplan and site map building for events
  • Build and distribute Banquet Event Orders and Activity Orders for the resort team
  • Assess and ensure risk management policies are followed
  • Obtain Insurance documents from clients and vendors as required
  • Provide rules of conduct to outside vendors
  • Prepare reports as assigned.
  • Plan internal meeting rooms as assigned.
  • Responsibilities will require working some nights, weekends and holiday periods to assure on site coverage
  • Host Pre Con meets and introductions for internal teams
  • Build and maintain integrity and relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners.
  • Maintain Group Sales Service materials and resources as assigned
  • Position may be responsible for planning events for multiple Vail Resorts Destinations.

Job Requirements:

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2 years Conference Services or Event Planning Experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Work Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint
  • Experience within Delphi FDC, Opera Sales and CVENT/Social Tables an asset
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • Flexibility to travel in the resort as needed
  • Provincial requirement for Food and Alcohol Service
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to consistently manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Proven success in a similar role and environment.
  • Build solid relationships and partner with stakeholder and clients to create results.
  • Able to influence and work with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Flexible schedule based on business needs: Some travel and in-resort visits may be required

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $58,604.00 - $70,000.00 CAD. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
