Eureka! Program Description
Girls Inc. Eureka! Program is an intensive, five-year STEM program that builds girls' confidence and skills through hands-on opportunities in math, science, technology, sports, and careers. Serving girls from grades 7th-12th, Eureka! aims to increase girls' future options for academic achievement and careers, to encourage enrollment in college-bound math and science courses, to promote positive risk-taking, and to assist girls in developing networks of peers and mentors to support their future endeavors.
Job Description
We are currently seeking a Eureka! Coordinator who is passionate about the Girls Inc. mission and is excited to motivate more girls to consider STEM post-secondary and career pathways. The Eureka! Coordinator will support the development of year-round Eureka! programming through assisting in planning and implementation of monthly learning sessions, summer camp experiences, quarterly parent meetings, and internship opportunities for participants.
Primary Responsibilities
  1. Eureka! Programming

Assist in implementation of year-round programming in partnership with other Eureka! staff. Duties include:
  • Assist with logistics, planning, and development for all Eureka! field trips, externships, field trips, UNO summer camp, and recruitment
  • Attend, supervise, and assist in coordinating UNO camp during month of June
  • Support promotion and recruitment efforts of girls at partner sites
  • Monitor, encourage, and ensure Eureka! Program participant engagement
  • Ensure Eureka! Program social media is kept up to date
  • Assist with program development
  • Other duties as assigned
  1. Data Collection and Tracking

Collect and track relevant program data, e.g. enrollment forms, demographic information, attendance, and surveys.
  1. Other Support and Duties as Assigned

Available to attend local events to network and promote the organization and its programming and possibly facilitate presentations and workshops for girls and adults across the community.
Requirements
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong ability to take initiative.
  • Demonstrate cultural competency and a comfort level working with diverse girls, families, and staff team.
  • Have experience with youth development.
  • Must possess flexibility, independence, warmth, strong organizational skills and capacity to problem solve.
  • Knowledge and experience with program support and development, with a bonus of creativity skills.
  • Highly adept at cross team collaboration and creative at generating solutions.
  • Relevant and significant experience in gender-specific and/or experiential programming highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate dependability.
  • Commitment to strength-based individual and group work.
  • Knowledge of local community resources.
  • Willingness to have a flexible schedule, e.g. weeknight and weekend availability required.
  • Valid Driver's License and access to reliable transportation.

Education:
  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:
  • Working with high school students: 2 years (Required)
