Varsity Events & Operations Assistant
Position Description
The Athletics Varsity Events and Operations Assistant will work directly with the Manager for Events and Operations as well as the Home Events Supervisor for BSU's Athletics and Recreation department.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist with the setup and break down of athletic events and home contests. Moving and organizing of equipment.
  • Assist with gameday operations such as scoreboard, music, announcements, equipment, tickets, ball retrieval and other duties as needed.
  • General knowledge of sports and equipment preferred or willingness to learn.
  • Work scheduled events (regardless of weather elements, as most events are rain or shine)

Eligibility requirements:
  • Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Must have availability to work on nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Athletic/sports knowledge is extremely helpful, also a desire & willingness to learn.
  • Ability to maintain a reliable and dependable attendance record.
  • Willingness show initiative, follow directions and work independently
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Works well with others.
  • Microsoft computer skills a plus.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift 30+ pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to withstand various weather elements
