The Sales and Event Manager will manage and operate a world-class private event facility that will generate and grow revenue by successfully executing events in any area of Water Grill South Coast Plaza as well as at off-site events. They will support the Sales Manager in booking events through initial guest conversation, room tours, package review and creation of private event contracts. They will also lead the Private Event team with the ultimate goal to meet or exceed the sales target for the department that is set by the GM. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Execute all Private Dining experiences, ensuring complete Guest satisfaction
  • Build long term event program through executing event experience
  • Support the Sales Manager in booking events
  • Report to the GM weekly on the status of sales, operations and crewmembers in your department
  • Schedule, supervise and develop the Private Dining Coordinators
  • Interviewing, hiring, training, and coaching/counseling of Crewmembers, as needed
  • Greet the host at all events; insuring they are the point of contact during the Event
  • Plan and prepare for all event needs
  • Update the management staff of all upcoming events at MTM's and using OML
  • Print up menus for event 
  • Print up contracts, all final details are confirmed
  • Manage all deposits and refunds
  • Coordination of any table decorations 
  • Participate in a weekly meeting with the Sales Manager, Executive Chef and GM that validates preparedness for upcoming events and reviews operations of the prior weeks events.

HOURS: The Sales/Events Manager needs to be available during our guest events. The Sales/Events Manager is expected to work a 48-50 hour workweek and assist the restaurant with any reasonable needs outside of their banquet responsibilities.

Requirements:

  •  2+ year Event Management/coordination or equivalent Restaurant Management Experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior organization and follow-up/through skills
  • Detail-oriented
