With multiple screens, an extensive menu, and an electric atmosphere, we're the go-to spot for event goers, sports enthusiasts, and casual diners alike.

As the Tavern United Assistant Manager, you'll be at the heart of the action, working closely with the Tavern United Manager to ensure smooth daily operations. You'll support and motivate the team, help drive guest satisfaction, and contribute to profitable business outcomes. Your leadership, energy, and hands-on approach will ensure every guest leaves with an unforgettable experience.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support Daily Operations: Assist the Manager in running high-quality shifts, ensuring smooth operations, consistent service, and strong sales and profit performance.
  • Guest Experience: Deliver outstanding service in all areas, actively responding to guest feedback and resolving issues professionally to ensure every guest leaves satisfied.
  • Team Support & Leadership: Help with staff scheduling, monitor attendance, and support the team to perform at their best. Train, coach, and provide follow-ups to ensure staff understand and excel in their roles.
  • Food & Beverage Management: Assist in managing costs by reducing waste and supporting profitable operations.
  • Event & Shift Execution: Help execute game-day or special event operations, maintaining the energy and excitement that Tavern United is known for.
  • Promotions & Engagement: Support the Manager in executing themed nights, promotions, and community engagement activities.
  • Additional Duties: Take on other responsibilities as requested to keep the pub running smoothly and guests happy.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in Hospitality Management.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of labour management, including scheduling, productivity, and labour cost control.
  • Proven ability to drive sales growth and identify opportunities to build new business and increase guest traffic.
  • Strong working knowledge of hospitality principles and procedures, methods, practices, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of cost analysis, fiscal management, and budgeting techniques.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs and point of sales systems.
  • Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills.
