What does an events executive do?

An Events Executive is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing events such as conferences, exhibitions, corporate meetings, or social gatherings. Their duties include managing budgets, liaising with vendors and clients, overseeing event logistics, and ensuring that all aspects of the event run smoothly. They also handle promotions, manage event teams, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the planning or execution stages. An Events Executive’s goal is to deliver successful, memorable events that meet client expectations and organizational objectives.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an events executive, and why are they important?

Familiarity with event management software, budgeting tools, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills help you manage clients, vendors, and teams effectively. These abilities are crucial for delivering seamless events that meet client objectives and ensure participant satisfaction.

Job description

About The Role & Team
The North America Field Marketing team is responsible for driving regional growth by creating marketing strategies that generate pipeline, accelerate opportunities, and strengthen customer relationships. As the Senior Field Marketing Manager, East Region, you will own the field marketing strategy across one of Amplitude's most important territories, partnering closely with Sales leadership to identify opportunities, influence regional priorities, and deliver programs that create measurable business impact.
This is a highly cross-functional role for someone who enjoys thinking strategically while remaining hands-on in execution. You'll combine data, creativity, and strong business partnership to develop innovative campaigns, events, executive experiences, and account-based programs that help our teams engage prospects and customers throughout the buyer journey.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy building from the ground up, and love collaborating across Sales and Marketing to solve problems creatively, we'd love to meet you.
As a Sr. Field Marketing Manager, you will:
  • Be the "CMO" of Amplitude's East Region - owning the marketing strategy end to end; developing regional programs that generate pipeline, accelerate opportunities, and support revenue growth.
  • Partner closely with regional Sales leaders to understand business priorities, identify whitespace opportunities, and build creative marketing plans tailored to the needs of the territory.
  • Develop and execute a mix of first-party events, executive experiences, third-party sponsorships, webinars, and account-based marketing initiatives that create meaningful customer engagement.
  • Measure program performance through pipeline, influence, ROI, and engagement metrics, using insights to continuously optimize future investments and regional strategy.
  • Collaborate across Marketing, SDRs, Partner Marketing, Product Marketing, Customer Success, Communications, and Revenue teams to deliver exceptional experiences and ensure alignment across every campaign.

You'll be a great addition to the team if you have:
  • You enjoy thinking creatively and finding new ways to engage customers beyond traditional field marketing tactics.
  • You're naturally collaborative and build trusted partnerships with Sales leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • You love using data to inform decisions but aren't afraid to test new ideas and iterate quickly.
  • You're comfortable operating with autonomy and enjoy owning a business rather than simply executing requests.
  • You're energized by fast-paced, high-growth environments where priorities evolve and opportunities emerge quickly.

At a minimum, you need to have:
  • 5+ years of B2B field marketing experience, preferably supporting Enterprise or Commercial sales organizations within a SaaS company.
  • Demonstrated success owning a regional marketing strategy that contributed measurable pipeline and revenue outcomes.
  • Experience partnering directly with Sales leadership to develop territory plans and execute integrated marketing programs.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and events simultaneously.
  • Experience with marketing automation and CRM platforms such as Marketo and Salesforce.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25-35% for regional events and customer engagements.
