Job description

Join Our Team as the Special Events Coordinator
The Town of Hilton Head Island is seeking an experienced and skilled Special Events Coordinator to provide technical support with the Town's special events permitting process as well as administrative support for the Community Engagement department.
What You Will Do
  • Coordinates all aspects of the event permitting process from submittal to approval/denial;
  • Receives and reviews special event applications for accuracy and completeness;
  • Serves as the liaison between applicants and Town departments involved in the event review process;
  • Obtains payment of permit fees, bonds and escrows for Beaufort County Sheriff's Office; services; administers refunds as needed;
  • Tracks application status, coordinates internal reviews, and follows up with applicants;
  • Schedules and coordinates internal meetings;
  • Collects post-event feedback and prepares correspondence;
  • Prepares permits and correspondence for approved events

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • May be required to work a varied work schedule
