Events Conferences information

What are events conferences?

Events conferences are organized gatherings where individuals or groups come together to discuss specific topics, network, share knowledge, and collaborate within a particular industry or field. These conferences often include keynote speakers, panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions. They can be held in-person, virtually, or in a hybrid format, and are valuable for professional development, learning about industry trends, and making connections with peers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an events conference manager?

To thrive as an Events Conference Manager, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in event planning or hospitality, often backed by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with event management software, budgeting tools, and CRM systems is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities help you coordinate teams and manage client relationships effectively. These skills ensure seamless event execution, positive attendee experiences, and successful outcomes for clients and stakeholders.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in events and conferences, and how can they be managed effectively?

Professionals in events and conferences often encounter challenges such as coordinating multiple vendors, managing last-minute changes, and ensuring attendee satisfaction. Effective communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to adapt quickly are essential for overcoming these obstacles. Building strong relationships with suppliers and team members, maintaining detailed schedules, and having contingency plans in place can greatly help in managing unexpected issues and ensuring the success of each event.

Job description

About the role:

Base Salary: $115-$180K*

Location: Remote (USA)

Kalepa is hiring an Events Manager to build and scale a high-impact events program that drives pipeline and revenue.

This is a newly created role with full ownership: turning events into a measurable, repeatable source of pipeline and revenue. You will design and execute a strategy focused on highly curated, senior-level engagement with target accounts - including private dinners, roundtables, conferences, and customer advisory boards.

Events at Kalepa are tightly integrated into our enterprise sales motion. Your goal is not just to generate pipeline, but to accelerate deals, build trust with senior stakeholders, and create opportunities for deeper engagement across accounts.

You will own the function end-to-end, from audience strategy and execution to performance and conversion, working closely with the Marketing Director, Sales, Product, and leadership to make events a durable competitive advantage.

Key responsibilities:
  • Own Kalepa's global events strategy and calendar, aligned to GTM priorities, target accounts, and pipeline goals
  • Design and execute highly curated, executive-level events including dinners, roundtables, conferences, and customer advisory boards
  • Build repeatable event playbooks that drive consistent pipeline and revenue outcomes
  • Drive measurable business outcomes, including pipeline created, influenced, and revenue sourced, as well as impact on deal progression and velocity
  • Partner closely with Sales on account selection, invite strategy, and multi-threading within target accounts
  • Own pre- and post-event workflows, ensuring strong engagement before events and structured follow-up that converts to pipeline and revenue
  • Coordinate speaking opportunities, award nominations, and conference submissions for executives and product leaders
  • Launch and scale Kalepa's webinar program as a complementary, top-of-funnel channel
  • Manage multiple events simultaneously with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
You'll be right at home if you:
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B events or field marketing, ideally in SaaS or AI/technical products
  • Proven track record of events driving measurable pipeline, influencing deals, and accelerating revenue outcomes
  • Experience executing executive-level, highly curated events rather than primarily large-scale trade shows
  • Strong understanding of account-based marketing and enterprise sales cycles
  • Ability to translate technical or AI-driven products into compelling event narratives for senior audiences
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Marketing, and senior leadership
  • High ownership mindset with the ability to build and scale programs from the ground up
What you'll get:
  • Competitive salary (based on experience level).
  • Significant equity options package.
  • 401(k) plan with employer contribution (regardless of employee contribution)
  • Excellent benefits: 100% covered medical, 100% covered vision and dental, and others.
  • Work with an ambitious, smart, global, and fun team to transform a $7T global industry.
  • 20 days of PTO a year.
  • Global team offsites (2023 - Buenos Aires, 2024 - Lisbon, 2025 - Cartagena)
  • Healthy living/gym stipend. Mobile phone bill stipend.
  • Continuing education credits.

*The salary range listed is an estimate and will vary based on a variety of factors. Final compensation will be determined during the offer stage based on relevant experience, performance during the interview process, and geographic location, and may therefore differ from the posted range.
