Job description

Unit Secretary

Eventide on Eighth in Moorhead, MN is hiring for a full-time Unit Secretary to work from 8:00a-4:30p Monday through Friday with holiday rotation.

Responsible for the clerical and receptionist work, daily records, charts, and medical and administrative information for the Resident Care department. Ensures that work is performed in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern medical records as required by the Director of Nursing and the Resident Care Manager. Works closely with residents/tenants, families, and providers with scheduling and coordinating appointments.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitors facility access with the aid of video camera, intercom system, security alarms, Wanderguard, and fire alarms.
  • Greets, directs, and provides information to residents/tenants, staff, families, and visitors.
  • Answers the telephone and relays messages and requests to unit personnel. Provides requested, appropriate information to callers when possible and transfers calls according to requests.
  • Assists with resident transfers and admissions documentation.
  • Maintains resident charts and schedules required physician appointments and visits.
  • Monitors and schedules external medical relations including appointments, lab work, pharmacy orders, and x-rays while ensuring proper transportation to and from appointments.
  • Transcribes physicians' orders under supervision of the Charge Nurse.
  • Assists with in-house room changes and completes necessary documentation and notifications.
  • Maintains an adequate inventory of clerical and office supplies on unit.
  • Prepares appropriate documentation sheets as required and requested.
  • Submits work requests for maintenance needs.

Compensation

At Eventide, we value our employees and offer a competitive estimated starting pay range of $18.00-$20.16 for Unit Secretary per hour based on qualifications, experience, and location.
