Event Setup Rep (On Call)
USS Midway Museum - San Diego, CA

Are you upbeat, positive, reliable and have a passion for people?  Are you looking for a job in a unique and fun environment?  The most visited aircraft carrier museum, the USS Midway Museum, is looking for an Event Setup Rep (On Call).

Status:            On call or as needed. Scheduled weekly, with schedules posted three weeks in advance.

Pay rate:        $20.00 hour

Schedule:       Shifts are typically 6:00 AM to 1:30 PM or 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM

**Must be able to work weekends/holidays**

Position Summary

San Diego’s top-rated attraction, the USS Midway Museum, is seeking Event Service Representatives.  This position provides the general labor necessary for the set up and tear down and equipment for special events.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean, dust, and wipe rental equipment furniture
  • Quickly and safely load and unload event gear and equipment using lifting equipment
  • Physically set up and tear down event equipment i.e. tables, chairs, stanchions, flooring, umbrellas, etc.
  • Assemble furniture and space accessories, i.e. shelving, cabinets, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/ABILITIES:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior related experience preferred.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Reliable and dependable: ability to report to work on time as scheduled.
  • Demonstrate excellent guest services skills.
  • A team player. Must work well with others.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Job Conditions/Work Location:  Work is performed on board an aircraft carrier.

Physical Requirements:   Constant climbing up/downstairs and ladders; bend, stoop and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull/push, lift and carry up to 50 pounds; reach both above and below shoulder height.

Equipment Operated:  Aircraft elevator, forklift, man lift, aircraft tow truck, buffer/scrubber, pallet jack, small power tools and janitorial equipment.
