Position Summary

The Part-Time Event Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing security operations during conventions, trade shows, conferences, and special events at the convention center. This position helps ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, vendors, exhibitors, and property while providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced event environment.
The Event Security Supervisor leads event security personnel, enforces venue policies and procedures, responds to incidents, and supports crowd management operations to ensure successful event execution.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead event security staff during conventions, trade shows, concerts, and special events
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings and assign post responsibilities
  • Monitor security operations throughout the venue to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Assist with crowd management, access control, and guest screening procedures
  • Respond to emergencies, incidents, disturbances, and customer concerns in a professional manner
  • Prepare and submit incident reports and daily activity reports
  • Coordinate with venue management, event organizers, law enforcement, fire personnel, and emergency responders when necessary
  • Ensure staff maintain professional appearance and customer service standards
  • Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas including exhibit halls, entrances, loading docks, and restricted areas
  • Enforce safety regulations and venue rules to maintain a secure environment
  • Assist with training and mentoring new security personnel
  • Support staffing adjustments during events
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous security supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in event security, hospitality, convention centers, or large venues preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations professionally
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Flexible availability including nights, weekends, holidays, and event-based schedules
Licensing Requirements
  • Valid Nevada PILB Guard Card required, financial assistance provided
