Salary Range $17.00 - $17.00 Hourly

Description

Hampden-Sydney College is seeking up to 4 dedicated individuals to join our Public Safety and Police department as part-time (flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays) Event Security Staff. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and security of students, faculty, staff, and guests during various events held on campus. Responsibilities include aiding campus police with traffic control and ensuring smooth event access. Essential functions include:

  • Monitor students, staff, patrons, and visitors during assigned events such as concerts, special events, and sporting events
  • Perform traffic control duties including parking management, traffic flow direction, and setting up roadblocks as necessary
  • Manage event access points, check IDs, and ensure adherence to security protocols
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED and a valid drivers' license along with reliable transportation. Finalists will be required to pass a criminal justice fingerprint and background screening clearance as well as complete Campus Security Officer, Campus Security Authority and CPR certifications, all of which will be provided by the College. Event Security Staff position requires prolonged periods of standing or sitting, often in noisy and crowded environments. Candidates must be willing and able to work both indoors and outdoors in varying temperature extremes and weather conditions throughout the year.
