Summary
Industrial Sites - The Security Officer ensures efficient and professional security operations at work sites within the appointed region. This position is a working level Security Officer who actively work onsite, securing the client's property, location and deterring suspicious activity. Security Officers will report any suspicious activity immediately to the Security Corporal on location. Perform all essential functions of a Security Officer while at appointed site.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
  • Work to ensure that the assigned premises are kept safe and secure
  • Regular walks around assigned perimeter
  • Move blocker vehicles as needed
  • Communicate effectively and regularly to team using assigned radio
  • Identify and correct inefficiencies, liabilities, and safety hazards at appointed site
  • Follow procedures to handling gates, lights, and visitor check ins
  • Monitor assigned location with high degree of attentiveness to surroundings at appointed site
  • Provide detailed information to authorities as needed
  • Have NO use of force to protect property - Secure and Report ONLY
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management

Required Skills / Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Utilize the company's current scheduling and approving her/his weekly hours for payroll
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is a must

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to sit upright, stand, or walk for 100% of the shift as needed
  • Must be able to quickly ascend and descend stairs and move as needed to secure premises
  • Must be able to engage quickly physically to de-escalate or respond to security or safety threats
  • Must be able to regularly get in and out of vehicles to perform tasks including moving blocker vehicles as needed
  • Must have excellent visual and auditory acuity to see, hear, and interpret observable people, things, behavior, and speech.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Position Type and Expected Work Conditions
  • Full-Time or Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt - Minimal 8-hour shifts
  • Involves work assignments that vary in days of the week and time of day to relate to the 24/7 security operations of the client
  • Travel to other locations may be needed
  • Both indoors and outdoors possible, regardless of weather
  • Must be able to work 2 weekends per month
  • If Special Events Security Officer - hours will vary are based off event schedule

Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Required to make any/all continued training/education classes provided by Premier Security Solutions, relevant to position
  • Law enforcement, public safety, or military experience, preferred
