Position Summary
Level III Technician will provide services including but not limited to theatrical rigging, lighting, sound reinforcement, computer media/projection, scenic installation as well as positive customer relations. Level III Technician may serve as "Manger On Duty", and will work closely with Technical Production Manager & Assistant Manager pertaining to the responsibilities of equipment maintenance and all inventory upkeep, operations of the theater lighting and sound consoles, advancing bookings, and maintaining the safe, tolerant, and inclusive performance environment of The Salvation Army Joan B. Kroc Theater.
Essential Functions
  • Must be able to take leadership role pertaining to all departments within Theater operations as instructed by Technical Production Mgr. or Asst. Mgr.-Serve as " Manager On Duty" when Technical Production Mgr or Asst. Mgr are not available.- Must be able to work independently.- Retain working knowledge of theater technical inventory.-Design & installation capabilities pertaining to lighting and sound reinforcement.-Must be able to read lighting plots, mic plots, hang and patch equipment accordingly.-Ability to facilitate lighting, sound, & stage operations during all technical and dress rehearsals, as well as productions.-Ability to provide clients with technical input to ensure customer satisfaction.-Ability to instruct others in basic console & equipment operations.-Must be able to maintain and assess theater lighting, sound, and rigging equipment.- Must be able to maintain and operate theater counterweighted fly system.-Maintain safety standards and procedures to maintain a safe work environment, reporting any issues to Technical Production Mgr.-Work cooperatively with Kroc Program Dir, Mgr, Supr, & staff to facilitate the technical needs of Kroc Center Ministries, Kroc Programs, & Event rentals.

Working Conditions
Ability to be physically active for extended periods of time. Walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, and reach over head. Ability to grip, push, and pull objects such as tools, cases, lighting instruments, and cables. Must be able to lift minimum 10lbs.Computer and Digital Media Skills applicable.

  • Excellent time management.

  • Good computer operation & navigation.
  • Experience with hand tools
  • Basic rigging experience.
  • Backstage etiquette.
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism.
  • Have a philosophy of education and child development, which is consistent with that of The Salvation Army.
  • Must be able to work with parents, children, & staff as a leader & mentor in the specifics of theater operations.
  • Ability to interact with children of all ages in a joyful, sensitive, & respectful manner.
  • Display positive behavior modeling & establish positive & consistent professional boundaries.
  • Handle security or crisis matters in a calm & professional manner.
  • Problem solving with a positive and professional attitude, & consulting with Manager when situationally necessary.
