Job description

Overview
The Auburn University College of Sciences and Mathematics (COSAM) STEM Outreach Office promotes scientific literacy, STEM career awareness, and hands-on learning opportunities for K-12 students, educators, and communities across Alabama and beyond. Through events, competitions, camps, teacher professional development, and community engagement programs, we inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and innovators.
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and enthusiastic student employee to join our team. Students typically work approximately 10 hours per week, with additional hours available during major events and program seasons. Some programs occur during evenings and weekends; however, event schedules are planned well in advance whenever possible.
Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the planning, coordination, and implementation of STEM outreach programs and events
  • Interacting with K-12 students, teachers, parents, volunteers, and community partners
  • Supporting registration, communications, and participant management activities
  • Maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and program records
  • Creating educational materials, promotional content, and program resources
  • Organizing supplies, equipment, and event materials
  • Assisting with event setup, facilitation, and breakdown
  • Collecting and organizing evaluation data and feedback
  • Providing general administrative and logistical support for outreach initiatives
  • Contributing ideas for program improvement and participant engagement

Qualifications
  • Enrolled student at Auburn Univeristy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
