Job description

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Bridges & Structures Project Manager to join our Infrastructure division in New York! Seeking candidates that are near our offices in Albany, Buffalo, Rochester or Syracuse.  

Our Bridges & Structures team is a highly skilled professional group conducting business across New York and into the New England region. We provide a full range of structural engineering services from scoping, planning, preliminary through final design, and construction for highway, pedestrian, rail bridge and culvert projects in addition to contractor engineering services. 


Responsibilities
  • Ensure the success of the bridge projects under their management.
  • Handle all aspects of a project lifecycle from identification, pursuit, contracting, design development and construction phase support. 
  • Business development including client marketing, proposal preparation, and attend relevant technical, professional, and political networking events. 
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to structural staff.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise the work and workload of project staff.
  • Monitor project costs to ensure that projects are delivered within budget, fulfills customer expectations for schedule and quality, and/or aligns with the company strategic objectives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering is required; Master's degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of bridge design/management experience is required.
  • PE licensed in NY (or through reciprocity) is required. 
  • Established business network with New York State bridge owners such as NYSDOT, NYS Thruway Authority, Municipal clients and contractors.
  • Prior experience and understanding of AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications and the Federal-Aid project delivery process.
  • Ability to manage bridge projects and lead multi-disciplinary teams meeting schedule, budget and quality. 
  • Familiarity with construction engineering, AREMA based rail bridge design, and/or design build procurement a plus.
  • Ability to identify, pursue, and win work.
  • Ability to work with team members in other offices. 
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $103,000 to $166,800 per year (depending on qualifications)
