The Facilities Manager oversees the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of multiple buildings, offices, and vehicles at the International Support Center (ISC). This role ensures that all facilities, including grounds, interior spaces, vehicles, and equipment are maintained in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards with high focus on effective communications and exceptional customer service.
This position serves as a key contact for facility-related emergencies and is expected to respond after-hours, weekends and holidays as needed and must be able to arrive on-site within 30 minutes to address critical safety and operational issues.
**Compensation range for this position is $75,000-79,000
This is a full time, onsite position located at our office in Lindale, Texas
How You'll Contribute
Facilities Oversight
  • Manages work order intake, prioritization, assignment and completion according to internal SLAs.
  • Conducts regular building inspections and audits; identifies hazards collaborates with stakeholders to address safety gaps and implements corrective actions to mitigate risk.
  • Schedules and oversees preventive maintenance programs to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of building systems, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Plans, coordinates, and manages facility improvement, renovation, and space optimization projects from initiation through completion.
  • Evaluates repair and/or maintenance needs, determining when external vendors or contractors are required.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for vendors and contractors; coordinates work activities, provides project oversight, and ensures quality and timely completion of services.
  • Supports long-term campus planning initiatives, space utilization projects, office reconfigurations, and furniture relocations.
  • Supports Hospitality event operations by coordinating facility readiness, room setup, breakdown, and post-event restoration.
  • Manages the relationship with the Engineer of Record to ensure the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of campus water and wastewater systems.
  • Manages contracted janitorial services to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance standards are consistently maintained throughout office and common areas.
  • Prepares detailed repair and maintenance cost estimates, including itemized labor, materials, equipment, and contractor costs; reviews and analyzes vendor proposals for accuracy, completeness, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepares detailed Scope of Work (SOWs), and business cases to support facility projects and capital improvement initiatives.
  • Informs Director of ISC Facilities & Global Hospitality of any unplanned expenses and anticipated future costs.

Develop & Manage Staff
  • Supports the professional and spiritual development of staff through training opportunities, team-building activities, devotionals, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Schedules and coordinates staff assignments and weekly work schedules to support daily, weekly, and monthly operational objectives. Coaches and develops staff by promoting best practices, providing regular feedback, conducting performance evaluations, and addressing performance concerns when necessary.
  • Reviews and approves timesheets, PTO requests, and other employee leave requests in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Coordinates contractor schedules and vendor activities with stakeholders to ensure services are completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal operational disruption.
  • Schedules, coordinates, and provides direction to volunteers supporting facility operations and special projects.
  • Assigns and delegates work responsibilities to ensure efficient operations and balanced workload distribution.
  • Handles confidential and sensitive information with discretion and provides guidance on organizational policies and procedures as appropriate.

Safety, Risk, and Compliance
  • Responds promptly to facility-related issues, service disruptions, and emergency situations to minimize operational impacts and maintain a safe environment.
  • Participates in emergency response activities and coordinates facility support during incidents, evacuations, severe weather events, and business continuity situations
  • Oversees testing and maintenance of fire alarms, extinguishers, generators, and other life-safety systems
  • Partners with Campus Security to ensure access control systems, gates, and secured entry points remain operational and compliant with security requirements
  • Maintains accurate records of physical keys and access credentials through a controlled key inventory system.
  • Monitors applicable regulations and industry standards related to hazardous materials and chemical handling and ensures facility practices remain compliant.
  • Maintains and audits Safety Data Sheet (SDS) records to ensure accurate chemical inventories and compliance with applicable storage, handling, and reporting requirements.
  • Partners with the Staff Development team to develop, coordinate, and deliver facility-related safety training and awareness programs for employees.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and utilize facility management, work order, and asset management software systems.
  • Working knowledge of building systems, construction methods, preventive maintenance practices, and repair processes related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater systems, including storage, maintenance, operational requirements, and applicable state and local regulatory standards.
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, occupational safety practices, hazard recognition, and regulatory compliance requirements (OSHA).
  • Ability to adjust quickly in response to organizational, strategic or priority changes and shifting customer needs.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage multiple facility projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget requirements.
  • Ability to evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate services, and manage contractor performance.

Education and Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive facilities management, building operations, maintenance management, or property management in a large office complex or higher education setting.
  • 3+ years of progressive supervisory or employee management experience.
  • Experience supporting campus-style environments, hospitality operations, ministry organizations, educational institutions, or multi-building facilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management or related field preferred.
  • Professional certification such as CFM or FMP preferred.
  • Class D Freshwater and Class C Wastewater License preferred.
  • Certified Pool Operator preferred.
  • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
