Position Overview
The Residential Sales Manager will foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and enthusiasm-ensuring our sales team continues to reflect the values that have made J & J Air one of the most respected HVAC companies on the Grand Strand.
This role is ideal for a sales leader who wants to build a high-performing team, grow with a respected company, and help deliver comfort solutions that truly improve clients' homes and lives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and motivate the team of Comfort Consultants and sales personnel to achieve individual and team performance goals
  • Conduct regular ride-along sales calls to mentor team members and strengthen in-home selling skills
  • Lead weekly sales meetings that provide direction, training, accountability, and motivation
  • Ensure the team consistently follows company sales processes and maintains J & J Air's high standards of professionalism

Sales Performance & Revenue Growth
  • Monitor daily sales performance, lead flow, and progress toward monthly revenue goals
  • Ensure incoming leads, referrals, and service-generated opportunities are properly managed and maximized
  • Support the sales team in developing proposals for complex projects and high-value opportunities
  • Review and approve sold jobs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company standards
  • Run in home sales calls to supplement sales team in event of an absence

Customer Experience & Brand Reputation
  • Ensure every client interaction reflects J & J Air's reputation for quality, integrity, and service excellence
  • Promote high-efficiency HVAC systems and comfort solutions that provide long-term value to clients
  • Confirm financing options are presented in all proposals to help clients make confident decisions
  • Ensure post-installation follow-ups to strengthen relationships and generate referrals

Lead Development
  • Collaborate with marketing manager to plan and implement marketing campaigns and promotional activities
  • Develop strategies to increase referral business and client-generated leads
  • Support sales team by participating in J & J Air sponsored events

Operational Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Service Manager to maximize service-generated leads and ensure strong communication between departments
  • Support scheduling and proposal preparation during high call volume periods

Daily Focus Areas
  • Review sales pipeline and lead status
  • Track progress toward daily and monthly sales targets
  • Support Comfort Consultants with active quotes and proposals
  • Review sold jobs for quality and accuracy
  • Coordinate with service and installation teams to maintain smooth project flow
  • Assist clients directly when needed, including walk-ins and appointment requests

Success Metrics
The effectiveness of the Residential Sales Manager will be measured through key performance indicators including:
  • Achievement of monthly and annual sales revenue goals
  • Growth in team-generated leads and referral business
  • Consistent adherence to company sales processes
  • Increased service technician referral opportunities
  • Customer satisfaction ratings of 95% or higher
  • Year-over-year growth of residential replacement sales budget

Requirements
  • 5 years of experience in HVAC sales
  • 5 years of experience in sales management
  • Job knowledge: HVAC systems, heat load calculations, & financing
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and a client-focused attitude
  • Proactive and self motivated work ethic

Salary Range: $90,000 - $125,000 annually
Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM (some evenings and weekends as needed)
Compensation: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
