Job description

Amazon Ads' Global Strategic Events (STEEP) team is seeking an operationally excellent and business-minded Senior Event Operations Lead to drive production oversight and business affairs across our growing portfolio of marquee live, virtual, and hybrid events.
This role is central to ensuring our events are delivered on time, on budget, and at the highest quality bar - with ownership spanning vendor and agency management, event production oversight, budget and financial operations, strategic planning, and logistics coordination. You will serve as the connective tissue between internal stakeholders and external production partners, ensuring accountability, financial rigor, and seamless execution.
This is a high-visibility individual contributor role reporting to the Global Event Operations Lead. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity - proactively identifying needs, bringing ideas without waiting to be directed, and operating with full autonomy

You will influence without authority, galvanize cross-functional teams, and bring the operational leadership needed to manage complex vendor ecosystems and production workstreams in a fast-paced, document-driven environment.
Key job responsibilities
Vendor and Agency Management
-Own end-to-end vendor and agency relationship management: SOW development, performance oversight, and contract negotiations
-Manage the full procurement journey - onboard suppliers, execute contracts, process spend approvals, open POs, and approve invoices
-Drive compliance and legal coordination across international markets
-Serve as the primary business affairs liaison between internal event leads and external production partners
Strategic Planning & Reporting
-Contribute to the annual planning cycle: calendar, budget, and goals mapped to business priorities
-Support Leadership review documentation and help shape how the ops team maps to evolving priorities
-Synthesize registration, attendance, and ROI insights into strategic recommendations
Budget & Financial Operations
-Develop and manage event budgets within a large-scale program
-Track expenses, lead invoice management, and ensure delivery within approved allocations
Operations & Process Development
-Drive process development and lead operational workstreams across the events team
-Identify and implement AI tools and automation solutions to scale operations
-Build and maintain scalable frameworks, templates, and SOPs
