Job Description

Join the Oliver & Bonacini team as an Event Porter, where your organization, attention to detail, and teamwork will help create successful and memorable events for our guests. Working alongside our Events and Operations Teams, you will be responsible for the complete setup and teardown of event spaces, including moving and arranging tables, chairs, décor, and other event materials according to event specifications. You will play an important role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall readiness of the venue throughout each event. We are looking for someone who is reliable, physically capable, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while taking pride in supporting seamless event operations and delivering exceptional hospitality experiences.

The day to day: 

  • Prepare and set up event spaces according to floor plans, event specifications, and client requests, ensuring all details are completed to O&B standards.
  • Assist with event setup and ensure venues are fully prepared and ready for upcoming events, including early morning setups when required.
  • Coordinate and support team members during setup and teardown to ensure work is completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Safely lift, move, and arrange furniture, equipment, décor, and other event materials as required.
  • Complete event teardown, ensuring the venue is cleared, organized, and maintained according to O&B standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall upkeep of event spaces throughout operations.
  • Receive, organize, and sign off on materials and deliveries from clients and couriers, while communicating any updates or concerns to management.
  • Welcome and assist clients, vendors, and delivery teams by providing support and direction when needed.
  • Follow all Health & Safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Support the Events and Operations Teams to ensure smooth execution of each event.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities and complete assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and execute clear instructions.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving up to 50 lbs.
  • Dependable, reliable, and goal-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight shifts.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Availability expectations:

  • Full-Time Employees: provide a minimum of 5 days of availability each week.
  • Part-Time Employees: provide a minimum of 3 days of availability, including at least one weekend day.

Additional Information

Wage starts at $17.60/hour + gratuities.

Compensation may vary depending on location, as gratuity amounts differ by venue.
