Zeta Summer Internship Program

Are you interested in learning what it takes to launch a new school year, and work alongside a passionate, mission-oriented team? As a part of our Zeta Summer Internship Program, you will gain invaluable insight into schooling by supporting our schools and staff in preparation for the launch of the 2026-27 school year.

About the Internship

Zeta Summer Interns will have a strong work ethic, be extremely dependable, and be able to manage multiple tasks at once in a strategic, organized way. You will work with and learn from a team of mission-driven, high-achieving, passionate colleagues to help Zeta succeed in its mission to build and sustain high-performing schools that forge thriving communities of lifelong learners, problem solvers, and innovators.

This internship offers the unique opportunity to learn about various aspects of preparing for a new school year, with a focus on one key functional area. You will get the chance to work with and shadow colleagues who have experience in various careers including teaching, school administration and leadership, operations, consulting, finance, etc.ย 

Responsibilities

As a Summer Intern, you will work side-by-side with our Professional Learning team to organize and prepare Zeta for the 2026-27 school year. Help power unforgettable experiences at Zeta by:

  • Supporting the planning and execution of Summer Zeta University (SZU), our annual summer training program for all Zeta staff or Z Combinator, Zeta's charter school founder fellowship programย 
    • Preparing and resetting workshop and event spaces, ensuring rooms are fully equipped for programming (tables, chairs, materials, catering setup, and other logistics)
    • Coordinating catering logistics for program days, including ordering, delivery coordination, and on-site setup
    • Managing program materials and supplies, including inventory tracking for swag, materials, and decor
    • Supporting travel coordination for fellows visiting from outside of New York City, including flight booking and itinerary organization
    • Preparing program materials by proofreading, formatting, and printing resources for participants and facilitators
    • Assisting with schedule coordination across multiple programs and helping ensure sessions run on time
    • Tracking program expenses and supporting reconciliation processes to ensure accurate financial documentation
    • Participating in daily team stand-ups to align on priorities, troubleshoot issues, and prepare for upcoming programming
    • Providing a high-quality, service-oriented experience for fellows, facilitators, and participants by anticipating needs and helping resolve logistical challenges in real time
  • Supporting additional operational and program needs as they arise to ensure a seamless experience for all participants

You will build skills in program management, professional learning design, and operational execution, all within a mission-driven environment focused on strengthening and scaling excellent schools.

Qualifications

  • Students pursuing Education, Psychology, or Sociology are encouraged to apply

Logistics and Compensation

  • This internship follows a hybrid schedule. On in-person days, you will report to Zeta Inwood, located at 401 West 218th St, New York, NY 10034. The internship duration is 7 weeks long, from June 22nd, 2026 through August 7th, 2026. Interns can expect to work 8 hours a day, with scaffolded shifts from either 7:00am - 3:00pm, 8:00am - 4:00pm, or 9:00am - 5:00pm.
  • We are accepting applications from college students for this position, with a preference for rising Seniors.
  • Compensation for this position is $17.00 an hour.
