Job description

SUMMARY
The Event Marketing Coordinator will be a strategic team member and lead and execute events that support the philanthropic mission and priorities of Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh (HFHGR). In conjunction with various departments, plans, executes, and promote both internal and external events while aligning them with corporate branding and communication strategies. The organization hosts events throughout the year for a variety of audiences including donors, volunteers, homebuyers, government officials and corporate partners. Reporting to the Director of Communications, this position will play an integral role in enhancing the corporate brand through the planning and execution of strategic, intentional, and well-prepared events. Events range from large, public-facing events like our Home Builders Blitz, community-based events like Home Dedications, and internal events like our
semiannual all-staff meetings.
This is a full-time, exempt position requiring flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed for meetings and projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Manage logistics, budgets, technology, and vendor relationships to deliver high-quality experiences.
  • Apply industry best practices and operational expertise to ensure seamless execution, attendee satisfaction, and financial accountability.
  • In tandem with each department’s specific needs, develop and implement comprehensive communication plans to promote events and ensure consistent branding.
  • Prepare collateral and other on-site materials.
  • Conduct site inspections and recommend locations based on program requirements, attendee experience, budget, and operational needs.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure favorable terms, minimize organizational risk and liability, and maximize our cost savings.
  • Manage day-of logistics on-site as determined.
  • Oversee post-event reporting and wrap-up.
  • Stay current on industry trends, latest technology, and event best practices.
  • Utilize digital tools and coordinate media outreach to increase event visibility.
  • Design digital/physical graphics, write newsletters, and create social media content to drive attendance and meet individual department goals.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

GUIDELINES
Adherence to the Affiliate strategic plan, included within Habitat Greater Raleigh’s overall plan and mission. Additional employee guidelines are provided in the HFHGR Policy and Procedure Manual. All construction practices are according to the North Carolina Building Codes and specific municipal building codes.
COMPLEXITY
Responsibilities involve multitasking several activities with differing deadlines, importance, and stakeholders, requiring exceptional ability to organize and prioritize work and manage time. Ongoing training (e.g., building techniques, practices, materials, etc.) is critical.
SCOPE AND EFFECT
All work must comply with applicable laws and construction codes, as well as Habitat Greater Raleigh’s guidelines, policies, and mission statement.
CONTACTS
The Event Marketing Coordinator has frequent contact with other HFHGR staff, families, volunteers, and sponsors, as well as external vendors and partners.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates primarily in a professional office environment and routinely requires operating standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and fax machines. This position is hybrid and requires some nights and weekends depending on the event.
