Job description

Job Summary


Ensure safety of pool patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies, while enforcing pool rules and regulations.


Duties and Responsibilities


Primary Responsibilities


  1. Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility, from the assigned position, act immediately to ensure safety in the event of an emergency.
  2. Examine injured patrons and administer first aid, CPR or any emergency care needed, until emergency medical services arrive.
  3. Enforce facility rules and regulations.
  4. Sign in patrons and enforce rules regarding entrance.
  5. Clean pool, deck, restrooms, guard areas and other buildings as required.


Secondary Responsibilities


  1. Attend in service trainings as required.
  2. Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times, maintain a high level of customer service.
  3. Perform additional duties as assigned by superiors.




Minimum job requirements


Must be at least 15 years old and hold current CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard certifications by American Red Cross or the equivalent.



Knowledge, skills and abilities required


-Ability to react calmly and professionally in emergency situations.


-Maintain CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard skills to current testing standards.


-Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.


-Ability to effectively communicate and work as a team.


-Physically able to perform necessary lifeguard skills and lift 25+ lbs.

- Knowledge of and ability to adhere to company policies and regulations.
