The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for an Events Specialist in the Communications and Marketing department. The incumbent assists in the overall administration of the Midwest City special events and festivals; conducts meetings with citizen committees and coordinates with city departments to accomplish projects; designs and coordinates projects with various community organizations, including school systems, military contacts, and the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce; and understands the importance of brand imaging and public perception of the City mission, purpose, and values. High school graduate or equivalent and Associates Degree and/or experience in marketing, coordination of community events and recreation programs required. Bachelor's degree in related fields preferred. Marketing and/or graphic design experience is preferred. Software Skills Required: Intermediate: Other, Presentation/PowerPoint Basic: 10-Key, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing. Employee must possess a valid Oklahoma driver license and be insurable. Must pass clerical, word, excel, power point and publisher tests. This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening.
