Job description

Position Summary:
The Event Support Associate works within the Events Department to support the preparation, execution, and breakdown of all building events and theatre-related activities. This role ensures event spaces are properly configured, safe, and fully prepared for rentals, performances, rehearsals, meetings, and special functions. The position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to quickly transform spaces based on changing event needs.
Essential Functions / Job Duties:
• Set up and break down event spaces according to floor plans, layouts, and department instructions.
• Arrange tables, chairs, staging, risers, and equipment for a wide variety of events.
• Support load-in and load-out for internal events, rentals, vendors, and production teams.
• Assist with basic audio/visual and event equipment set up under supervision.
• Reset spaces efficiently between events, rehearsals, and bookings.
• Follow directions from Events Department staff, coordinators, and supervisors.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all event areas and storage spaces.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or missing/damaged equipment.
• Support general event operations as needed during peak periods.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities / Position Requirements:
• Ability to lift and move up to 40-50 lbs. and perform physical setup tasks.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing event environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow setup instructions accurately.
• Reliable, punctual, and team oriented.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and variable event schedules.
• Prior experience in event setup, facilities, hospitality, or production support is a plus but not required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
