Lead Activities Coordinator Assisted Living & Memory Care (Full-Time)

We're looking for a compassionate, energetic, and creative leader to take our Assisted Living and Memory Care Life Enrichment Program to the next level.

This is more than an activities position—it's an opportunity to create memorable experiences, build lasting relationships, and make a positive impact on the lives of seniors every single day.

What You'll Do

As our Lead Activities Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and leading a dynamic calendar of programs designed to enrich the physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of our residents.

You will:

  • Lead engaging daily, weekly, and monthly activities for both Assisted Living and Memory Care residents.

  • Design innovative, person-centered programs that accommodate varying cognitive and physical abilities.

  • Create meaningful opportunities for socialization, exercise, music, arts, games, education, celebrations, and community involvement.

  • Develop specialized memory care programming using dementia-friendly approaches and best practices.

  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, volunteers, entertainers, and community partners.

  • Coordinate outings, special events, holiday celebrations, and themed activities.

  • Recruit, train, and motivate volunteers and activity assistants.

  • Maintain activity calendars, participation records, assessments, and required documentation.

  • Monitor resident engagement and adjust programming based on individual interests and abilities.

  • Work closely with Nursing, Therapy, and other departments to ensure each resident receives a well-rounded quality-of-life experience.

  • Maintain activity supplies, manage inventory, and assist with department budgeting.

  • Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with facility policies and state regulations.

We're Looking For Someone Who Has
  • Experience leading activities in an Assisted Living, Memory Care, or senior living community.

  • A genuine passion for working with older adults, especially those living with dementia.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Creativity, enthusiasm, patience, and a positive attitude.

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

  • The ability to motivate and engage residents with different interests and abilities.

  • Experience planning events, coordinating schedules, and managing multiple priorities.

  • Basic computer skills for calendars, documentation, and communication.

  • The physical ability to lead exercise programs, games, outings, and other resident activities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

  • Activity Professional certification or related certifications are a plus.

  • Experience in dementia care and person-centered programming is highly preferred.

  • Background in recreation therapy, event planning, senior services, healthcare, or therapeutic recreation is beneficial.
