Event Manager & Hillel Program Manager
University of Louisville Hillel
Make a difference in the lives of others through this dual-role position at the Trager Family Jewish Community Center. This full-time role is designed for one professional who will split their time between two complementary positions:
  • Event Manager (approximately 28 hours/week)
  • Hillel Program Manager (approximately 12 hours/week)

Together, these roles create a dynamic opportunity to engage both the broader community and college students through meaningful programming and relationship-building. The position supports the mission and values of the Trager Family JCC and Jewish Louisville with a strong focus on connection, inclusivity, and Jewish life.
Event Manager
The Event Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and executing programs and events that engage the JCC community and foster a sense of belonging.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement diverse programming/events including recreational, educational, cultural, and social events
  • Oversee event logistics such as space reservations, supplies, and volunteer coordination
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers as needed
  • Collaborate with marketing team to promote programs and events
  • Partner with the AgeWell Program to support active adult and senior programming, including occasional hands-on support (e.g., field trips, Meals on Wheels, administrative tasks)
  • Assist with the Louisville Jewish Film Festival with development and execution of events and attending committee meetings.
  • Assist in coordinating and fulfilling Trager Family JCC rental client needs including showing space, coordinating with staff and working with the client during events.
  • Engage with community members to assess needs and enhance programming
Hillel Program Manager
The Hillel Program Manager focuses on building vibrant Jewish life for students at the University of Louisville through engaging and meaningful programming.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute approximately two student programs per month (cultural, social, educational, and religious)
  • Collaborate with student leaders to co-create programming that reflects their interests
  • Build relationships with students to increase engagement and develop future leaders
  • Work with the Jewish Community Relations Director on budgeting and program planning
  • Manage event logistics including scheduling, marketing, and vendor/campus coordination
  • Evaluate program success using feedback and data
  • Build partnerships with campus organizations and administration
  • Ensure programming reflects Jewish values, pluralism, and inclusivity
