Description:

The Warehouse Lead is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating daily warehouse operations, ensuring accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities. This position serves as the operational link between the Warehouse Logistics Supervisor and warehouse associates, driving execution, communication, safety, and continuous improvement within the warehouse

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily shipping, receiving, and material handling activities, ensuring workflow efficiency and real-time scanning accuracy.
  • Verify shipping and receiving documentation; validate quantities against packing slips and manifests to prevent errors.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment; assist with loading and unloading during peak periods.
  • Prepare and submit daily shift reports including shipments, inventory status, and escalated issues.
  • Coordinate with Production and Quality departments to address packaging, turnover, and shipment-related issues.
  • Conduct cycle counts and periodic inventories; ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded in the WMS.
  • Serve as a Warehouse Management System (WMS) super user; support training and troubleshoot minor system issues.
  • Implement and sustain 5S and lean warehouse standards; identify improvement opportunities and support corrective actions.
  • All other tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of warehouse or logistics experience.
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse processes.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an automotive or manufacturing warehouse environment.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement experience.

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing and warehouse environment with exposure to noise, heat, moving equipment, and physical material handling. Position requires standing, walking, lifting, and operating material handling equipment for extended periods.
