About the Firm

Richards, Watson & Gershon ("RWG") is a 71‑year‑old law firm and a leader in the practice of public agency law. RWG litigators work on some of the most complex and important issues affecting Californians today, including CEQA, municipal code enforcement, water rights, constitutional and civil rights issues, and labor and employment.

Position Overview

We invite candidates with 5+ years of litigation experience, including trial experience, to join our Litigation Department as a Litigation attorney representing public agencies, primarily in the Los Angeles office.

Responsibilities
  • Represent public agencies in complex litigation matters.
  • Manage bench or jury trials, including writing and arguing dispositive motions.
  • Take and defend depositions, and prepare and respond to written discovery.
  • Research and draft legal arguments and legal opinions.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on strategy and case development.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of litigation experience, including trial experience.
  • California Bar membership.
  • Superior research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • A commitment to professional excellence.
Compensation & Benefits

Base pay range: $147,800.00/yr – $195,000.00/yr (actual compensation will depend on experience, litigation skill set, and business origination).
