Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Hornell, NY

Job Type: Full-Time (On-site)

Setting: Outpatient Orthopedics & Community-Based Rehabilitation

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join a growing rehabilitation team in Hornell, New York. This is an excellent opportunity for clinicians who value one-on-one patient care, a collaborative work environment, and a healthy work-life balance with no weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities.

Position Overview:

The PTA will primarily provide outpatient physical therapy services under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists. Depending on organizational needs and individual interests, there may also be opportunities to work with adults with developmental disabilities in community-based residential settings.

The clinic serves a diverse patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics and treats a variety of orthopedic, neurological, post-surgical, and general rehabilitation conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality physical therapy treatments under the direction of licensed Physical Therapists

  • Manage an independent patient caseload in an outpatient setting

  • Provide one-on-one patient care during 40-minute treatment sessions

  • Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system

  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes

  • Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans and home exercise programs

  • Maintain compliance with all applicable state regulations and organizational standards

  • Participate in care planning and treatment progression discussions

Schedule:

  • Flexible scheduling options available

  • Four 10-hour workdays may be considered

  • Combination of evening hours and shorter workdays preferred

  • Schedules planned in advance to support work-life balance

  • No Weekends, No Holidays, No On-call responsibilities

Caseload & Work Environment:

  • One-on-one patient treatment model

  • 40-minute treatment sessions

  • Approximately 10-12 patients per day

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

  • Eligible for or currently licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in New York State

  • Experience in outpatient orthopedics and rehabilitation is preferred
