MedStar Medical Group II, LLC d/b/a MedStar Medical Group has multiple openings for the full-time position of Hospitalist based at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital Center in Leonardtown, MD.

Job Duties:

Provide inpatient medical care and consultation. Participate in call schedule. Perform complete medical history and physical exam on patients; establish differential diagnoses. Facilitate coordination and development of a comprehensive and individual plan of care in collaboration with patient, family, and multidisciplinary team. Order appropriate lab and diagnostic procedures. Synthesize data to determine primary diagnoses and therapeutic plan utilizing established medical principles. Prepare written prescription orders, medications and controlled substances under the rules and regulations of the State of Maryland as well as federal law. Coordinate patient and family education with nursing staff, ancillary staff and other resources. Dictate patient information in appropriate format and following established guidelines. Maintain daily progress notes using established guidelines; follow all established HIMS policies for maintenance and signing of medical records. Submit complete patient bills within established timeframe. Participate in medical staff quality improvement and review activities.

The position of Hospitalist is responsible for treating adults. Position requires day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts and on-call duties. 40 hours per week

Requirements:

Position requires a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree or foreign degree equivalent.

Position requires completion of 36 months of ABIM-recognized and ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program. Position requires a valid Maryland Medical License and American Board Certification (or eligibility) in Internal Medicine.

Salary: $150,488.00 - $275,000.00 / year
