Job description

Stinson LLP seeks an Attorney with litigation experience, preferably in the financial services industry, to join our Irvine, California office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney interested in building and developing strong litigation skills representing financial institutions in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Duties include file management, motion practice, courtroom opportunities, depositions, alternative dispute resolution, and trial preparation. We offer a supportive and congenial team environment balanced with autonomy and hands-on experience guided by partners with decades of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and eager to take ownership of a caseload but also have a team-oriented approach to work and exhibit good interpersonal communication skills.
Candidates with experience from a regional, national, or outstanding local law firm are preferred. Excellent writing, oral advocacy skills, and academics are required. Judicial clerkship experience is a plus. The successful candidate should have the following experience and/or skills:
  • Responsibility in analyzing, organizing, and drafting pleadings (e.g., demurrers, motions to dismiss, motions to strike, discovery motions, summary judgment motions)
  • Outstanding attention to detail;
  • Exposure to e-discovery and fact development;
  • Propounding and responding to written discovery;
  • Interest in taking and defending depositions;
  • Exposure to appearances in state and federal courts in case management conferences, motions and other pre-trial matters;
  • Familiarity with (R)FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, UCC, EFTA, TILA, and UCL/UDAP; and
  • Strategic and analytical skills in addressing client challenges, both legally and economically.

Stinson has approximately 150 litigation attorneys (and over 450 total attorneys across the country) and represents clients in state, federal, tribal and other courts and tribunals throughout the U.S. We also often resolve matters without litigation by conducting investigations, engaging in pre-suit negotiations and employing alternative dispute resolution procedures such as arbitration and mediation. Active California license is required.

Our attorney compensation structure has two components: (1) a base salary and (2) a discretionary merit bonus based on performance. The base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $185,000. A signing bonus may be available. The salary range for this position is based on a variety of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and location. The range is provided as an initial approximation at the time of posting and may vary based on the individual's unique qualifications and experience.
