Neaton Auto Products Manufacturing, Inc. seeks a Principal Expert in Eaton, OH.
Job duties: Principal Expert: New Model Management and Manufacturing Strategy. Oversee Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) Team progress. Serve as customer contact for new automotive part model projects. Liaise with Japanese management of parent and sister companies orally and in writing using the Japanese language. Review and approve all activities related to new model review (NMR) or master schedules, including design, development, purchasing, quality, engineering, and production. Manage schedules related to new model programs. Coordinate new model activities between Neaton Auto Products Manufacturing, Inc. and the parent company. Travel as necessary for meetings (including meetings conducted in the Japanese language) with customers and group companies. Manage and coordinate customer-required documentation and objectives. Create and maintain departmental budgets. Coordinate and report on North American capacity sharing with internal stakeholders at Neaton Auto Products Manufacturing, Inc. Report (orally and in writing) on North American capacity planning to the parent company using the Japanese language. Promote continuous improvement efforts at both departmental and company levels. Oversee manufacturing location strategy. This position requires the ability to attend meetings in the early morning and evening to accommodate Japanese business hours. This position requires up to 10% travel, including 4% domestic travel to Neaton Auto Products Manufacturing, Inc.'s subsidiary in Rome, Georgia and 6% international travel to Neaton Auto Products Manufacturing, Inc.'s affiliated companies in Mexico and Japan.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in any major or field or foreign equivalent degree and 15 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or as Project Manager, Logistics Manager, Strategic Planning Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Sales and Production Planning Manager, Procurement Manager/Staff, Parts Delivery Manager, or closely related occupations. The required experience must include:
(i) 7 years of experience in the Japanese automotive industry (Tier 1 supplier or OEM) in project management, logistics, strategic business planning, supply chain, sales and production planning, procurement, parts delivery, or related;
(ii) 7 years of experience in the U.S. automotive industry working for a Japanese automotive company (Tier 1 supplier or OEM) in project management, logistics, strategic business planning, supply chain, sales and production planning, procurement, parts delivery, or related; and
(iii) 5 years of management experience using Total Quality Management (TQM).
Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking Japanese in a business setting.
Above experience may have been gained concurrently.
