Location: Green Releaf Dispensary – Mexico, Missouri

Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly

Schedule: Weekend and evening availability required; occasional early mornings or overtime may be needed based on business needs.

About the Role

Green Releaf is seeking an organized, dependable, and customer-focused Inventory Lead Budtender to support inventory operations while serving as a leader on the sales floor.

This position combines inventory control, product organization, customer service, and team leadership. The Inventory Lead Budtender will help maintain accurate stock levels, support compliant inventory processes, guide budtenders during daily operations, and ensure customers receive a knowledgeable and welcoming retail experience.

The ideal candidate has cannabis retail or inventory experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to balance behind-the-scenes inventory responsibilities with customer-facing leadership.

Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management
  • Support the receipt, organization, storage, and movement of cannabis products and retail merchandise.
  • Help maintain accurate inventory counts and product records.
  • Conduct routine inventory counts and assist with inventory reconciliation.
  • Identify, document, and report inventory discrepancies to store management.
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate product needs, shortages, and aging inventory.
  • Assist with product rotation, restocking, labeling, and organization.
  • Help ensure products are stored securely and according to company procedures.
  • Support inventory audits, compliance reviews, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with store management and appropriate internal teams regarding incoming products and inventory concerns.
  • Review inventory activity and help identify trends that may affect product availability or store operations.
  • Prepare or assist with inventory reports as requested by management.
Sales Floor Leadership
  • Serve as a floor lead during assigned shifts.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and support to budtenders throughout daily operations.
  • Help maintain an organized, efficient, and professional sales floor.
  • Assist with opening, closing, and shift-transition responsibilities when assigned.
  • Communicate priorities, product updates, and operational expectations to the team.
  • Help ensure daily tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Support store management by identifying operational concerns and recommending practical solutions.
  • Escalate employee, customer, compliance, or inventory concerns when management involvement is needed.
Customer Experience
  • Deliver friendly, professional, and knowledgeable customer service.
  • Educate customers about available products based on their stated preferences and needs.
  • Provide thoughtful product recommendations without making unsupported medical claims.
  • Help customers understand product categories, formats, and general product information.
  • Address customer questions and concerns professionally.
  • Assist with service recovery and elevate complex issues to store management when appropriate.
  • Model Green Releaf’s customer-service expectations for the budtender team.
Compliance and Accuracy
  • Follow Missouri cannabis regulations, company policies, and established operating procedures.
  • Help ensure sales, inventory activity, product handling, and customer interactions are completed accurately.
  • Verify that inventory documentation and product information are complete and consistent.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive customer and company information.
  • Immediately report suspected inventory loss, diversion, documentation errors, or compliance concerns.
  • Support a culture in which accuracy and compliance are treated as shared team responsibilities.
Training and Team Development
  • Assist with onboarding and training new budtenders and inventory team members.
  • Reinforce company expectations related to customer service, inventory accuracy, product knowledge, and compliance.
  • Provide respectful, timely, and practical coaching during shifts.
  • Help team members understand inventory procedures and the importance of accurate product handling.
  • Share product knowledge and operational updates with the team.
  • Recognize when an employee needs additional support and communicate development needs to management.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be eligible to work in a Missouri cannabis facility under applicable state requirements.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to two years of cannabis retail, inventory, customer service, or related experience preferred.
  • Previous lead, supervisory, or floor‑lead experience is a plus.
  • Experience with inventory control, cycle counts, product receiving, or stock reconciliation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cannabis product categories, strains, formats, and retail terminology is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of cannabis compliance requirements, or the willingness and ability to learn.
  • Comfortable using point‑of‑sale systems, inventory software, and basic workplace technology.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate recordkeeping.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to provide direction and feedback respectfully.
  • Reliable, professional, and able to follow through on assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced retail environment.
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are required.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional early‑mornings shifts based on business needs.
Physical and Work Requirements
  • Ability to remain standing or moving for extended periods.
