Job description

Pony Bird is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our team to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities.

STARTING PAY OF $18.00 PER HOUR PLUS DIFFERENTIALS

EVENING SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL $2.00 PER HOUR | MIDNIGHT SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL $2.50 PER HOUR | WEEKEND SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL $2.00 PER HOUR

What does a Direct Support Professional do?

  • Support individuals to reach their full life potential
  • Maintain quality of life with dignity and respect
  • Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) and provide total care supports
  • Encourage independence to the individual's capacity
  • Serve as a positive role model to promote appropriate adult behavior
  • Provide accurate documentation
  • Adhere and implement Individual Support Plans
  • Assure a safe, clean home environment upholding accreditation standards and regulations
  • Team-player who can also work independently
  • Ability to travel independently while driving agency vehicles to provide transportation for individuals served
  • Maintain attendance according to the policy of the agency and position

Schedule and Work Location:

  • Day Shift 6:00am - 2:00pm or 6:30am - 2:30pm *Required to work every other weekend
  • Evening Shift 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.  Required to work every other weekend
  • Arnold

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions and problem solve
  • Ability to evacuate individuals served in the event of a fire, natural disaster, or another emergency
  • Must be able to perform CPR and crisis intervention techniques, paid training provided.
  • Light computer skills to include data entry and word processing
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to be flexible to provide the needs of the individuals served
