Interim HR Director
Location: Fort Worth, TX | Onsite - 5 days a must
Employment Type: Interim / Contract with intent to perm (interim will receive a salary, benefits, PTO)
Lead Employee Relations, Engagement & Development
We are seeking an experienced Interim HR Director to provide strategic and hands-on HR leadership within a large, complex organization. This highly visible role will focus on three critical areas: Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, and Learning & Development.
The ideal candidate is an approachable, solutions-oriented HR leader who can quickly assess organizational needs, build credibility with employees and executives, navigate complex workplace matters, and translate people strategies into meaningful action.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex employee relations matters, workplace investigations, performance concerns, corrective actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Advise executives and managers on sensitive employee issues, HR policies, employment practices, and organizational challenges.
  • Identify employee relations trends and develop proactive strategies that strengthen manager effectiveness and the employee experience.
  • Assess employee engagement, morale, and retention trends and implement targeted improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership to translate employee feedback into actionable programs that strengthen culture and organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop and enhance learning, leadership development, coaching, and manager effectiveness programs.
  • Identify organizational skill gaps and support employee development, career growth, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Partner with senior leadership on workforce planning, organizational development, and change management.
  • Evaluate existing HR programs, policies, and processes and recommend practical improvements.
  • Quickly step into active HR initiatives, establish priorities, and drive execution.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with significant HR leadership or HR Business Partner experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise managing complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
  • Strong experience developing and executing employee engagement strategies.
  • Experience leading or managing Learning & Development programs.
  • Strong knowledge of performance management, employee coaching, conflict resolution, and organizational development.
  • Experience advising executives and senior leaders on complex people matters.
  • Strong knowledge of employment practices and HR compliance.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
  • Ability to quickly assess priorities and lead effectively within an interim environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • HR leadership experience within a large, complex organization.
  • Experience leading organizational change, leadership development, or succession planning initiatives.
  • Experience strengthening manager capability and building scalable employee programs.
