Job description

Job Summary
The part-time weekend and evening Custodian is responsible for routine daily facility cleaning during hours in which the facility is open and closed. This position will be fully accountable for the appearance and cleanliness of the facility at the time of open. This part-time position will have a schedule that is specific to evening and weekend hours. The custodial staff will receive direction from Building Engineer(s) and will be required to work independently.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Job Duties
• Responsible for securing the building at end of work shift.
• Responsible for daily cleaning of the facility restrooms, lobby, hallways, offices, kitchens, classrooms, studios, gymnasiums and all building surfaces, including high dusting. Maintain all floors throughout the facility, including any special upkeep assigned by the Maintenance and Facility supervisor.
• Responsible for checking daily calendars and completing all room set-ups and tear down as needed.
• Ensure that all rooms are prepared for the start of the facility the next day, including the restocking of towels and supplies.
• Remove all refuse and garbage from the building by the end of daily shift.
• Develop a positive relationship with all staff.
• Respond to emergency calls as needed.
• Report any problems, unsafe conditions, behavior issues and accidents to the Facility Manager and/ supervisor as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of cleaning methods. Previous custodial experience is preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks
• Ability to follow schedules, routines, and work independently
• Dependability and consistency in completing assigned duties
• American Red Cross CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire.
Wage Range: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour
Classification: Part-Time, non-exempt

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
