Job description

Are you passionate about helping individuals reach their fullest potential? Join us in our mission to empower individuals and students of all ages across Northern New Hampshire to achieve their educational and career goals.

WHAT'S YOUR DAY LIKE?

Using your strong relationships across this region, you'll connect with students of all types to assist in their education and career exploration, and to develop personalized plans that assist them in moving toward their goals with confidence. You'll also guide students and families through options for funding their education, including financial aid, scholarships, and student loans. No two days will look the same! You'll meet with students virtually and in person, deliver engaging presentations to a variety of audiences, share helpful resources and individualized guidance, and provide insight that helps strengthen our career planning and student success programs.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

To excel in this role, you'll need exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, families and partners in the community, and to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the organization. Your ability to create strong connections across a wide range of individuals and backgrounds will be key in fostering trusting relationships with those seeking your assistance.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • 3-5 years of experience in school or career counseling, college admissions, financial aid, or workforce development
  • Demonstrated understanding of education and career access in Northern New Hampshire
  • Strong presentation and public-speaking skills, with an ability to interact with a wide range of participants and groups of all sizes
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A strong desire to work with individuals across a wide range of socio-economic demographics
  • Self-motivated, and able to thrive in a frequently changing environment, working with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, as required by business needs.
  • Ability to travel as required by position or business needs; up to 80% to travel to local schools, partners, conferences, and meetings.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD YOU KNOW?

This is a full-time, hybrid position serving Grafton and Coos Counties in Northern New Hampshire. A deep familiarity with local communities and the higher education landscape - including an ability to travel regularly (up to 80%) across this geography - are necessary for success. Our successful candidate resides, or has recently resided in Northern NH, and has a comprehensive understanding of the education and career access landscape across the region. This role is largely remote, with an expectation to work from our offices located in Concord for a minimum of two days per month. The remainder of your schedule will be shaped by business needs, regional activities, and the communities you serve; regular evening and occasional weekend availability is required.
