Job Description SummaryOrganization's Summary Statement:
The Department of Residential Facilities is responsible for the maintenance and housekeeping services for the College Park Campus' 70+ residence halls, Greek chapter houses, and recreational facilities encompassing over 2.7 million square feet. The department employs over 300 exempt, non-exempt, and student staff.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Associate Director of Financial Services is responsible for managing internal business operations, internal/external budgetary, and fiscal management requirements of the Department. Responsibilities include oversight and compliance for internal procurement, payroll, accounting processes and procedures. The current annual budget is in excess of $70 million dollars. In addition to fiscal responsibilities, the Associate Director serves as a departmental leader in the creation and implementation of departmental strategic and operational goals and objectives. Oversees a work unit of 5 employees, with 4 direct reports.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Normal office environment to include keyboarding, drafting correspondence, planning/documentation and notes.
Able to push, pull, lift, carry objects up to 25 pounds.
Ability to travel around campus for meetings and to attend to duties.
License/Certifications: N/AMinimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Eight (8) years of professional experience managing business operations. Three (3) years of experience supervising or managing professional staff.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Knowledge of business acumen to understand key business drivers, organizational communications, and data.
Knowledge of organizational and unit performances measures.
Knowledge of the impact and implications of decisions on leadership objectives.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in data analytics and negotiation.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
Ability to develop and administer new policies and procedures.
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.

Additional Job Details

  • Experience in accounting, financial management, budgeting, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Experience overseeing departmental, institutional, or organizational budgets, particularly in large or multi-unit organizations.
  • Experience with purchasing, procurement, contracts, requisitions, and purchase orders.
  • Proven ability to lead professional staff, foster collaboration, and promote an ethical, service-oriented team culture.
  • Experience providing financial analysis, developing recommendations, and presenting complex information to senior leadership.
  • Proficiency with enterprise financial and human resource systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle, Adaptive, or similar platforms; Workday payroll experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of University and State financial policies, procedures, and practices preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with a commitment to accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service.
