The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) offers advanced outpatient surgery, allowing patients to return home soon after their procedures without the need for overnight stays. As an RN, you willassistfellow caregivers in providing exceptional care, frominitialintroduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients,familiesand visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.

This is a PRN role. A caregiver in this position worksbetween 7:00am to 5:30pm or 8:00am to 6:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Oversee the clinical practice of nursing in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC),including assessing patient care needs and planning the delivery of careutilizingthe nursing process in a variety of settings.

• Direct other caregivers in providing patient care.

• Report variances from standard practice to the Nurse Manager.

• Develop educational material andprovidehealth education to patients and families.

• Processpatients through the ASC.

• Assessthe level of personnel skills and the availability of resources to meet established patient outcomes.

• Activelyparticipatein attaining ASC goals andmission.

• Monitorandevaluatecost effective practices within the ASC.

• Participate in the development andutilizationof quality monitoring programs within the ASC.

• Responsible for personal and staff development bymaintainingnursing competenciesandparticipatingin the preparation of staff development programs.

• Identifyself-learning needsbyestablishingpersonal and professional goals to meet those needs andevaluatetheattainment oftheset goals.

• Demonstrate respect for the cultural and social differences that exist among people.

• Maintain confidentiality of informationregardingpatients,familiesand staff members.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an approvedSchool ofNursing

• Current state licensureas a Registered Nurse (RN)

• Basic Life Support (BLS)andPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)Certificationsthrough the American Heart Association (AHA)or the American Red Cross

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Certificationthrough the American Heart Association (AHA)withinsixmonths of hire

• One year of clinical experience as anRN in a perioperative or critical care settingOR three yearsofSurgical Technician experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• BSN

Physical Requirements:

• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $33.50

Maximum hourly: $53.40
