 Be the Difference in Real-Time Crisis Response

Village Behavioral Health (VBH) is seeking motivated, dependable Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs) to join our Comprehensive Mobile Crisis Responder (MCR) team for day and evening coverage.

This role is designed for professionals who are ready to step into critical moments, provide immediate intervention, and help stabilize individuals experiencing behavioral health crises across Virginia.


 Who We Are

VBH is a licensed behavioral health organization providing residential and crisis services throughout Virginia. Our mission is rooted in the belief that “it takes a village” to foster healing, stability, and recovery through person-centered, trauma-informed care.


 Position Overview

This position combines remote documentation and coordination with in-person mobile crisis response within assigned service areas. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide intervention, de-escalation, and connection to care.

  • Mobile Crisis Responder (MCR) Program

⏰ Schedule

  • Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Evening Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
  • May include weekends and holidays based on coverage needs


 Service Areas

Richmond, Greenville County, Prince Edward County, Amelia County, Dinwiddie County, Prince George County, Powhatan County, Goochland County, Hanover County, and the Blackstone/Fort Pickett area


 Compensation

Compensation is based on experience and availability.
Pay differentials available for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage

What You’ll Do

  • Respond to mobile crisis dispatches within assigned regions
  • Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning
  • Support individuals in high-risk, high-stress situations
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, hospitals, CSBs, and community partners
  • Complete accurate, timely documentation in the EHR
  • Participate in supervision, training, and team debriefings


✅ Required Qualifications

  • Must meet QMHP criteria under Virginia regulations
  • Completion of Commonwealth of Virginia Mobile Crisis Responder (MCR) training/certification required (or must be obtained prior to start date)
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance
  • GPS-enabled smartphone or tablet
  • CPR, First Aid, and Crisis De-escalation certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to pass DBHDS background and registry checks
  • Reliable internet and HIPAA-compliant remote work practices
