Job description

Evening Group Facilitator - Union, New Jersey
About the Organization
Resilience Behavioral Health is a client-centered behavioral health treatment organization located in Union, New Jersey, offering a comprehensive continuum of care for individuals navigating mental health and substance use conditions. Their programs span Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Evening IOP, and standard Outpatient levels of care, with a strong foundation in dual-diagnosis treatment that addresses both psychiatric and substance use conditions together. Their therapeutic approach draws on a wide range of evidence-based and holistic modalities including CBT, DBT, EMDR, motivational interviewing, family therapy, experiential therapy, music therapy, and art therapy. Resilience is deeply committed to serving diverse populations, including veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community, healthcare workers, and others who benefit from culturally responsive, trauma-informed care.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and engaging Evening Group Facilitator to join the Resilience Behavioral Health team in Union, NJ for our evening programming. This is a per-group role focused on leading structured group therapy sessions within a supportive, clinical environment. Facilitators typically lead an average of 2 groups per evening session, bringing in approximately $250 per night - making this an excellent supplement to a primary clinical position or a great way to build licensure hours in a meaningful, team-oriented setting. The ideal candidate brings experience facilitating therapeutic groups, strong interpersonal skills, and a genuine commitment to supporting individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges.
What You'll Do
  • Facilitate and lead group therapy sessions as scheduled within the evening IOP program.
  • Prepare and deliver structured, evidence-informed group content tailored to the needs of the client population.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation for each group session, including progress notes and attendance records.
  • Complete all required reports in accordance with program, organizational, and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure continuity of care and alignment with individual treatment goals.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and therapeutic group environment that promotes client engagement and recovery.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field required.
  • Active, independent licensure in the state of New Jersey required.
  • Experience facilitating group therapy or psychoeducational groups in a behavioral health setting.
  • Familiarity with IOP or similar levels of care is a plus.
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to complete progress notes and records accurately and on time.
  • Ability to engage and connect with a diverse client population in a group setting.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed, evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and uphold HIPAA compliance and client confidentiality.

Benefits
Compensation and Schedule
  • Compensation: $125 per group facilitated (independent licensure required)
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Facilitators typically lead an average of 2 groups per evening session (~$250/night)
  • A strong supplement to a primary clinical position or an ideal way to accumulate licensure hours in a structured, supportive environment
