Job Summary
The Computer Systems Technician II is responsible for assembling, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting complex, high-performance server systems. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment. The Computer Systems Technician II also serves as a mentor to Technician I staff, supports quality assurance initiatives, and contributes to process improvement efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble, configure, and test high-performance server systems.
  • Install, configure, and validate complex hardware components and peripherals.
  • Perform advanced hardware installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct rigorous quality assurance inspections and system validation testing.
  • Mentor and train Computer Systems Technician I staff on assembly procedures, best practices, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate production, inventory, and quality control records.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Follow established safety procedures and company policies.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and customer requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to Computer Systems Technician I staff.
  • Support quality assurance processes and assist in maintaining departmental standards.
  • May provide technical direction and workflow assistance as assigned.

Work Environment
  • Work is performed in a warehouse, production, and server lab environment.
  • Regular exposure to computer hardware, server racks, and electronic components.
  • Requires prolonged standing and walking throughout the workday.
  • Frequent physical handling, assembly, installation, and movement of server equipment and components.
  • May require working in confined spaces around server racks and equipment.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels generated by production equipment and server hardware.
  • Use of hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment is required.
  • Must follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 70 pounds or more, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching required to assemble and install server equipment.
  • Ability to move throughout warehouse and server lab environments.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to assemble, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware and server components.
