Job description

Overview

We're hiring an experienced CNC Machinist to join a growing precision manufacturing team producing high-tolerance components for the aerospace, defense, energy, and industrial markets. If you enjoy challenging work, take pride in first-time quality, and want to work with advanced machining technology, this is an opportunity to grow your career in a shop that values craftsmanship and continuous improvement.

This is more than a production role. You'll own the machining process from setup through production, working on complex parts that require technical expertise, critical thinking, and attention to detail.

What You'll Do
  • Set up CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers from print to first-part approval
  • Select tooling, workholding, and fixturing for a variety of materials and part geometries
  • Edit CNC programs at the machine to optimize quality, cycle time, and tool performance
  • Perform first article inspections and verify parts using precision measuring equipment
  • Monitor production runs and make tooling or offset adjustments to maintain tight tolerances
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications
  • Troubleshoot machining challenges including chatter, tool wear, dimensional variation, and surface finish issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and process capability
  • Mentor less experienced operators and help build a strong machining team
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience with setup and program editing responsibilities
  • Experience operating CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machining centers
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T
  • Strong understanding of tooling, speeds and feeds, workholding, and machining strategy
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, bore gauges, thread gauges, and CMMs
  • Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, or other specialty alloys
  • Self-motivated with strong troubleshooting skills and a commitment to producing quality work
Preferred Experience
  • 5-axis machining or mill-turn experience
  • CAM software exposure (Mastercam, Fusion 360, Hypermill, or similar)
  • Aerospace, defense, or other high-precision manufacturing experience
  • Experience supporting automated or lights-out machining environments
Why Join Us?
  • Work on challenging, high-precision parts instead of repetitive production work
  • Modern machining environment with continued investment in equipment and technology
  • Opportunity to expand your technical skills across advanced machining platforms
  • Join a growing operation with room for long-term career advancement
  • Collaborative team where experienced machinists have a voice in improving processes and solving complex manufacturing challenges

If you're looking for a role where your machining expertise will be valued and your skills can continue to grow, we'd love to hear from you.

You should be proficient in:

  • CNC Tooling
  • CNC Programming
  • CNC Machine Installation
  • G-Code
  • CNC Machine Setup & Changeover
  • Aerospace Manufacturing
