Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Safety Evaluations and Testing of Equipment in field installation settings. Manage, Execute, and report on projects requiring safety evaluations per national safety standard requirements.
  • Occasional Product Testing in SGS Laboratory as work dictates.

Specifically These Responsibilities Are To:
  • Conduct Field Labeling Evaluations in accordance with SGS CRS US Field Evaluation Body Program requirements.
  • Deliver well-written field evaluation reports along with required documentation within defined time frames.
  • Effectively communicate field evaluation report results with customers.
  • Review customer responses to non-compliance letter reports, as needed.
  • Review pre-evaluation documents to understand objectives of assignment prior to start of service.
  • Effectively schedule travel and execute assigned evaluations to minimize travel time and expenses.
  • Provide travel and expense cost estimates as requested.
  • Execute field inspections within in assigned time frame and cost estimate.
  • Submit final travel and expense costs in a timely manner.
  • Execute all work with a professional manner aligned with the SGS Integrity Policy
  • Adhere to internal SGS standards, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications
Profile of the position (Requirements & Qualifications):
  • Associates degree in Electrical/Mechanical field with minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience or;
  • Technical degree or equivalent training and minimum _5_ years of relevant work experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of National Electrical Code, UL and NFPA Safety Standards, SEMI S2 Safety Standards are desired along with any other related safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of European Machinery and Low Voltage Directives and supporting standards such as EN 60204 and Functional Safety Standards a plus.
  • Able to travel within and outside the US up to approximately 50 to 75% of the time.

Skills/Competencies:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good team spirit and adaptability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with SGS personnel and clients outside the US
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and good presentation skills.
  • Proficient use of MS Word and Excel programs, Internet skills required.
  • Experience operating test equipment normally but not limited to Hand Held Multi-Meters, Amp Probes, Dielectric Testers, Insulation Resistance Testers, Temperature Recording equipment.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, able to deal with ambiguity.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at the same time and prioritize them accordingly.
  • Ability to interpret specifications to satisfy customer requirements.

Pay Range: $40.00-$50.00/ hour

The expected salary range for this position is $40.00 to $50.00 per hour. This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
