Electrical/EV Project Manager

Summary

The EV Services project manager directs,coordinatesor budgets activities concerned with the construction and installation of wireless communication towers and/or technology upgrades. Participates in the conceptual development of a construction project andoverseeits organization,schedulingand implementation. Budget management isa must.

Key Responsibilities
  • Must have an active Electrical Journeyman license
  • Values safety over and above all other considerations
  • Work with superintendents,foremenand Construction Managersto plan, organize and direct activities concerned withallconstruction projects
  • Establish projectobjectives,proceduresand performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications
  • Confer with supervisors,foremenand Construction Managersto discuss such matters as work procedures,complaintsand construction problems
  • Initiate andmaintainliaison with owners and other contacts tofacilitateproject activities
  • Monitor and control project through administrative direction of on-siteforemento ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget
  • Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures
  • Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings
  • Work withProgram Manager/VPGMto manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest and simultaneouslymaintaingood relationship with the customer
  • May requisition supplies,materialsand sub-contractorsto complete project
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, etc.
  • Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress,costsand scheduling
  • Assign workers to construction sites to work on specified projects
  • Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
  • Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift20 pounds; includes body weight, equipment,toolsand boxesregularly
  • Must be willing to travel out of market/state, for up to severalweeksat a time (50-70%)
  • Must pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing andparticipatein random testing program
  • May berequiredto work long and unpredictable hours
  • Position requires workingindoors andoutdoors in all types of weather
  • Mustpossessvalid driver’s licenseand arerequiredto drive company vehicles
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have an active Electrical Journeyman license
  • Proven working experience in tower construction management
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods and the ability to manage and work within a budget
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Understanding of all facets of the tower construction process
  • Familiarity with construction management software package
  • Ability to plan and see the “Big Picture”
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
  • Excellent time and projectmanagement skill/experience
Soft Skills
  • Communicate in person, by phone with all site personnel
  • Ability to read,comprehendand carry out instructions
  • Must be able to work with a team, and independently asrequired
  • Must be able tolead a construction crew to complete projects
Supervisory Requirements

This position will directly supervise theConstruction Manageror crews if Construction Manager is not present

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time positionwith a typicalworkscheduleofMonday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with overtime requirements.

Travel

Travel isrequiredfor this position.Usually between10 to30% of the time.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelorsof Science degree in construction management, architecture,engineeringor related field preferred
  • Fiveyears’experiencein tower construction management
